James Graham Ballardgonna start to read his novels. "Empire of the Sun" (a film directed by S. Spielberg) was a true story of his life during the WWII. it move me to tears. this was a few years back. dumb me, i didn't know he wrote it. until recently. a friend recommends "Crash". mmm...we'll see how it goes, for a start.

Don't worry -- Empire of the Sun won't make you cry. Probably just the opposite. Crash is very very heavy. Neither book is much like the movie. If you really want to read some great Ballard, try one of the short story collections.
oh..thank you so much for the tips Rick. I'll start with his short story collection then...rather than simply jump into heavy stuff.
